Crack open a beer...Because college football season is officially underway! So each week, I will (attempt) to recap the best - and the worst - games for you in quick and easy fashion...Much like your girlfriend at a frat party...Zing!

Premium games on tap:

East Carolina def. No. 8 West Virgina 24-3: Wow. East Carolina owned West Virgina in this game. The Pirates never trailed, and West Virginia's only points of the game came from a field goal in the second quarter. This was East Carolina's first upset of a top-10 team since 1999. The Pirates have started their season by beating two ranked teams, and are now No. 14 in the AP poll. Arrrrghhhh!

No. 3 Ohio State def. Ohio 26-14: Ohio was a 33 1/2 point underdog in this game. But until Ohio State broke away in the 4th quarter, this was a really close game - with Ohio actually leading after 3 quarters. Oh yeah - and did I mention Ohio was playing without their starting quarterback? (he was injured in the first quarter). Not to take anything away from the Bobcats, but Ohio State played quite poorly. Yes, they were without Beanie Wells, but still... They're gonna have to get it together if they want to beat the USC condoms next weekend. But nonetheless, this was a good game to watch.

Honorable mention:
Vanderbilt def. No. 24 South Carolina 24-17 (Vandy has now beaten Spurrier twice in a row. Vandy probably could've beaten Spurrier's Washington Redskins, too); No. 20 Wake Forest def. Mississippi 30-28 (Wake Forest kicked a 41-yard field goal with 3 seconds left to avoid the upset); Michigan def. Miami (OH) 16-6 (this game was 10-6 for quite a while. So far, I'm not so impressed with the Rich Rodriguez era. I know they're supposed to be "rebuilding," but still...); No. 15 BYU def. Washington 28-27 (A penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct and a blocked PAT prevented Washington from possibly pulling off the upset). .

Games that resembled the foam at the end of a keg of Natty Light:

No. 11 Wisconsin def. Marshall 51-14: Yes, the Badgers were down 14-0 at one point, but then they turned it around, and the game got boring.

Louisville def. Tennessee Tech 51-10: Yawn.

TMS Alma Mater roundup (schools attended by TMS bartenders highlighted in green):

No. 19 Penn State def. Oregon State 45-14: Another rout for JoePa and company.

Northern Iowa def. South Dakota 24-13: I had something to say about this game, but then I got distracted by one of those singing "Free Credit Report dot com" commercials. This was UNI's home-opener...

Notre Dame def. San Diego State 21-13: Notre Dame scored 14 points in the 4th quarter to win this one.

Iowa def. Florida Intl. 42-0: Iowa routs again.

Florida State def. Western Carolina 69-0: Even though FSU had several starters sitting out suspensions, they still won big.

Purdue def. Northern Colorado 42-10: Purdue coach Joe Tiller tied Jack Mollenkopf for the most wins in school history with 84.

Knox College def. Euerka College 26-0: Unfortunately, Eureka couldn't avenge last year's 33-14 loss to Knox College. Bummer.

Illinois Wesleyan University def. Hope College 28-25: Almost 4,000 fans came out to watch this game. That's about 3,500 more people than the Atlanta Braves and Florida Marlins had at their game last week.

UCLA - DNP this week.
