Johan Santana: Still A Douchebag!!!

The Mets want to give Santana 5 guaranteed years on his new contract, with the option of the 6th year. Johan Santana says no. He wants 6 or 7 years guaranteed.

I like option years, especially for pitchers. Pitchers, even the good ones, are always an injury risk. And sometimes they just start to suck for no reason. So unless it's an unfair offer, any time a pitcher says no to option years, he might as well say "Sorry, but I might not be very good by then and I want to make sure that even if that happens, I still get my money."

So that's even more evidence that Santana is all about the Benjamins. That and the fact that Santana came into negotiations with an initial asking price of $28 million a year.

Mr. Santana - Thank you for showing us all twice in one week how much of a greedy prick you are.
